Accomplishments
At the beginning of the current Council term, my priorities focussed on issues around land use, transportation and climate.
Housing and land use
I participated in debates on a number of key planning and development projects, supporting Council decisions to move ahead with the initial stages of Cypress Village and key components of the Ambleside Local Area Plan. This term also saw the completion of the Kiwanis Village West housing project bringing 156 units of below-market workforce rental housing to the community. And in June 2026, following the expedited rezoning of the municipally-owned Fulton Lands, Council entered into a partnership with Catalyst Community Development Society to add a further 96 units to the stock of more affordable housing options for moderate income households.

Environment and climate
On the environment and climate file, I advocated for the new position of Senior Manager, Climate Action & Environment in 2022 to elevate the environmental protection division to lead District initiatives regarding climate change mitigation and adaptation funded through a dedicated environmental levy. I also advocated for West Van's first citizen-led Environment Committee formally established in 2023 and the District's first Climate Action Strategy in 2024.

Legacy Park
In February 2024, I brought forward a motion to protect approximately 2,500 acres (1,011 hectares) of undedicated municipally-owned urban forest above the 1200 foot contour as the cornerstone for a new Legacy Park: an initiative that is among the largest of its kind in North America.
